RTV (Silicon Based High Temperature Sealant) Removal
SkyKleen 1000 is an effective product for the removal of high temperature
sealants, commonly used around aircraft engines and associated components
by attacking the adhesive bond between the sealant and the surface to which
it has been applied.
Apply SkyKleen 1000 to the interface of the sealant and the
airframe
surface. Using the standard plastic or wooden scraper, pry the sealant up
using a back and forth motion allowing the SkyKleen 1000 to flow to the
front of the scraper. For thicker sealant layers a pre-soak period is
recommended.
For overhead or vertical surfaces, SkyKleen 2000 paste will provide the
ability for prolonged soak time as it adheres to the surface.
